Keto Protein Green Smoothie

Good Morning Familia! Your eyes do not deceive you…I am posting my first recipe on Grace and Lipstick! This is a beauty and faith LIFESTYLE blog after all. This smoothie has been a huge part of my life the past month. I have been enjoying this keto protein green smoothie for lunch almost everyday. I had trouble finding a keto friendly protein smoothie so once I made one I loved I couldn’t keep it to myself!

Let’s Talk Keto

Okay so first off, let’s chat a little about the Ketogenic way of life. I have been following a ketogenic way of eating for over two years! Being that it is a lifestyle and not a diet it is definitely an 80/20 percent of the time situation.

After a bit of a struggle season mid June-September, I hopped back into Ketosis at the beginning of October. This season has proven that this is definitely my favorite way of eating. I’ve also been doing it WAY differently than before and in my opinion, way healthier. This keto green smoothie has been a LARGE part of that.

Why I Love This Keto Green Smoothie

There are a plethora of reasons why I have been obsessed with this green smoothie. First off, I am not a big fan of at home salads. Who else agrees that restaurant salads are WAY better?! So having a smoothie is a great way to get my greens in for the day!

I wanted something that was nutrient dense enough to fit into my daily macros, and would be filling enough for a meal. I also wasn’t consuming any meat until dinner so I needed a good source of protein. After a few days of trial and error, I made this recipe and have stuck with it ever since. This is definitely not a ‘snack’ smoothie. It is 457 calories and has 7 net carbs. That is definitely a meal, and let me tell you…it is filling!

But How Does It Taste?

Keto Protein Green Smoothie

I’m not gonna lie and tell you that this smoothie tastes like a Jamba Juice. It definitely doesn’t, but it does taste good! It is filled with spinach, kale, cucumber, avocado and all the GREENS. Due to the low carb factor you can only add 1/4 cup of berries which isn’t a lot. For me the game changer is the packet of Truvia natural sweetener and the almond butter! I do often forget the truvia however and it is still drinkable. Just more flavorless.

You may be wandering why my green smoothie isn’t green…haha! Thats because it is filled with greens, not necessarily green in color. Each time I make this smoothie, it comes out to a different color and a different flavor! That is because of the variation of natural ingredients. Sometimes the berries are sweeter, sometimes the avocado is bigger, sometimes my handfuls of greens are larger. Regardless it is always a healthy, nutrient dense, filling smoothie.

Would You Swap Your Lunch For This Smoothie?

This smoothie is the perfect lunch option not only because of it’s nutrients, but also because it’s quick! I have been enjoying this smoothie as lunch almost everyday for over a month. Yes it tastes good; yes it is healthy, but more than anything’s convenient! I always have the ingredients stocked in my fridge/freezer. When lunch time rolls around on a busy day, I know I can whip this smoothie up and enjoy it on the go!

Nothing beats a thoughtless, quick, and convenient meal THAT IS HEALTHY. For me it has really changed the game. I even pack it with me on my long days at Disneyland. That says something. It also makes whatever I have planned for dinner that much more exciting.

The End Of My Smoothie Dreams

Keto Protein Green Smoothie

I hope you guys are as excited about this recipe as I am. Please let me know if you try it and your thoughts! My dad is a juice, fruit, and milk type of smoothie guy and even he can drink it! He would prefer the latter but this is WAY healthier. I would love to incorporate more of my Keto lifestyle into Grace and Lipstick whenever there is something I am THIS passionate about. I hope you guys enjoyed! Happy Smoothie-ing!
